This year, our own Sachin Melwani to the speaker line-up for the Controls & Skills Authority Conference 2025: Controls & Skills for You, Your Work & Your World – Manchester, 14–15 May 2025.

🔹Sachin will be speaking on Day 1 where he will be sharing his views on ‘Building Resilience in an Uncertain World’. Sachin will be providing an overview of the AI tools, and systems thinking. He’ll deep-dive, on enabling automatic Defect Detection and managing Systematic Risks with Integrated Project Governance.

Based on our work with the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), it extends our work on risk profiled in the Project Control Profession magazine (PCP)

***Case Study: Use of an advanced AI service in image processing on a large scale with the aid of deep learning via OCI Vision to automate defect detection in construction scenarios.

✅ Detecting issues across assets can be time consuming and labour intensive, but it can be automated with AI. Oracle’s AI vision can automate defect detection for digital twins, leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Vision. This type of solution can detect rust asset information using images collected by drones.

✅ Raw data is gathered by drones inspecting specific areas of a construction project, and the images are uploaded to OCI Object Storage. An event trigger then initiates the OCI Vision service, which employs custom models to detect anomalies within the collected images.
